Film Scanning
With our professional film scanning service, you can transform your already developed film into stunning, high quality digital files – and the good news is it couldn’t be easier.
With film scanning services available in 4.5MB and 50MB resolutions from 35mm and 120 film, River & Coast’s state-of-the-art film scanning services give you the chance to share, process and print your photos however you want from your already developed negatives.
Simply post us your negs with either a print out of your order confirmation or a covering note with your order details enclosed (and don’t forget to mark down which frames you want scanning!).
Once your films are scanned, the files will be sent to the email address supplied via WeTransfer.
Please note – This service is for a film that has already been processed at an earlier date and still on a strip (not individually cut negs) and the price is per frame required. If you require your film processed first and then the whole film scanning you can find all the details and where to order HERE.

HOW IT WORKS
Step One: Order Online
Here’s how you turn your film into high quality digital files:
Select the resolution option you’d like and place your order above
For each option available we will ask you for the quantity of scans required during the order process and also provide you with a choice when ordering on how you want your negatives returned either 1st class or signed for. When you have placed your order you will receive a confirmation email with a receipt and order number. Print this off to enclose with your negs.
Please note: We do not supply film scanning from single cut 35mm negs (single cut 120 film is ok) and currently no scanning from 35mm mounted slides.
Simply make a note of which frames you require scanning from your strip(s) of negs you send us.
Step Two: Package up your Print and post it off
Package your negatives up in a secure, padded envelope or parcel box and remember to enclose your printed receipt. If you don’t have a printer to hand then just please ensure that you enclose your Order Number and return address details when sending your negs. Remember to note down which frames are required for scanning.
Send your negatives to:
RIVER & COAST, Unit 2 Cumberland Rd, North Shields, NE29 8RD
We would always recommend using a tracked service to provide a bit more peace of mind when sending negatives to us and very importantly you must make sure to include the correct amount of postage for your parcel. If you are local to the lab then you can also simply drop it off to us!
Step Three: Receive your orders
When we receive your film negatives, you will be sent an email notification that your precious negs are with us and ready to go into the lab.
When scanned your individual frames will be transferred to you via WeTransfer via the email address you provided when ordering and then post your negatives back to your shipping address via the method chosen.
All within 5 working days of receiving your film!
